Tomás Castaño was born in Santander (Spain) in 1953. An internationally recognized,
self-taught artist, he has forged himself through determination and enthusiasm, opting
for a realistic pictorial style, which he approaches by capturing constructed and well
drawn compositions. , worrying about composition and drawing, he controls perspective
and also the faculties that have led him to achieve a status as a landscape designer
characterized by his architectural work.
His work is characterized by a serene and poetic realism, which translates the artist's
delight in the expression of traditional streets, buildings and facades. His paintings
capture the magic of ancient aesthetics and transmit all the warmth and humanization of

He has shown his work in group exhibitions in several countries such as the United

Ibero-American Art Fair 2012 and 2013, showing his work alongside works by
prestigious artists such as Fernando Botero, Oswaldo Guayasamín, Rufino Tamayo and
Roberto Fabelo. In 2015 he was selected to exhibit at the most important Asia-Pacific
event ART REVOLUTION TAIPEI 2016 (Taiwan). He has been selected as a finalist
of the Art Revolution Taipei 2017, 2018 and 2019 Competition, obtaining the Gallery
award in the last edition. In 2022 he will be at this important fair.
Again in 2023 he has been a finalist in ART revolution Taipei and also invited to
participate in the aforementioned fair.
