You can select image optimization during checkout process ( on your shopping cart ) , you can select the option to contact you to show you a preview to approve before proceeding to the production. We always do optimization that will make sense and not change the nature of your image. and if we have a doubt, we always contact you before print !

Are all the images reviewed prior printing?

We always verify and fine-tune the image before printing. Yes, we always fine tune the image before printing. Therefore, the designer will evaluate the photo. He might contact you if your image needs an optimization service. Which, it might bring in some extra charges between $10 and $20 dollars, depending on the level of edition required.

I want to send the print to a friend or a customer, do you ship your products with an invoice?

No, all shipment we send do not have any invoice or value on the box.

What is your working colorspace?

Our printing software is using sRGB. We will work with any other colorspace such as CMYK but they will be converted to sRGB

I am not sure about my image resolution, will you check before printing?

Yes, we will check quality. And if it's not meeting our standard or something is wrong with the file, we will contact you first before printing. You can also use our image resolution analyzer to check the resolution of your file Available here

How can I get the status of my order?

What is the typical lead time to get my order?

Since all our products are "custom made", the lead time may vary, you can check our frequently updated "lead time" page here

Why my tracking number doesn't work?

Our email system may be sending you the tracking number before the shipper is scanning the item. It might take up to 24 hours in some case for some carrier ( such as FedEx ) to scan the box and to activate the tracking, in the meantime, you will see "tracking not found" and it is normal, you can wait 24 hours and if it takes longer, feel free to contact us!

At what price should I display my art?

A work of art has a soul or an aura. From this principle, gauging the value of a work of art is, after all, relative and subjective. Several criteria can influence the setting of the price, but these are too subjective to play a decisive role: The working time, the cost of the material, the technique used, the market in which you operate, the visual quality, your career as artist, the quality of the technique, the complexity of the subject Here are some statistics which is not intended to influence you but to be simple indicators. Works sold regularly, we have a wide variety of pricing at the Pictorem gallery. This scale ranges from $20 per impression up to several thousand (price per area). Typically the majority of our artists use a price per dimension (between $2 and $5 per inch / or between $10 and $25 per square foot /) but lately the most common price setting remains a profit percentage on the cost of manufacturing (typically between 75% and 150% profit)

How can I become a featured artist?

The webpage algorithm will rank all the artwork listing based on Popularity. It can be influenced by the amount of traffic that you bring to your gallery form other medias. However, you can always purchase a Premium Account for more featured artist services.

Do i have access to customer information on my sales on the gallery ?

Yes, you will have full access, on your sales history page. It inclues customer name and address, phone and email.

What is the best image definition, format, and color space for upload?

We do suggest using your best possible original size (without upscaling your image), in JPEG format at the highest quality settings. and please use sRGB as colorspace ( for the best color rending on your online gallery). If you see the loss in quality in the image preview on your online gallery, this is due to the web compression for faster browsing of your online gallery and we will print exactly the file you uploaded without this loss of quality.

When will I receive my commission if I sold an artwork?

To receive your commission, you can always request your payment by clicking on the ‘Ask for payment’ button on the Sales history section on your Account. However, the payments are issued only 30 days after the shipment of the artwork. Afterwards, the payment will be send directly to your PayPal Account.

Do I have to pay the full price if I purchase my own artwork?

No, you can purchase your artwork without the artist commission. In order to access it, first you have to login into your account and on the gallery section, you’ll find a ‘BUY’ button. Once you click you’ll see a different price listing from the regular one.

My images on my gallery seems in a low resoluton, will my prints be affected ?

No, we are using exactly the original file you upload on your account. We don't compress or alter them. We do generate smaller preview images for sale on the website for many reason, but mostly to protect use from copying high resolution image from the website and improve the download speed for an optimal browsing and shopping experience, but the print quality of your photos will not be affected.

How does the price system works? Do you set commission or can I set it myself?

Our pricing system is simple. You’re the one that set the amount you desire to receive for each sale, and we add the printing cost and we obtain the selling price. The payments of the commission are issued after you made a sell and the order has shipped to the client.

How do you count the number of artwork views & likes ?

In order to provide a more accurate and realistic count by human, we changed the way we increment our views. Any page refresh or visit from search engine robots will not be counted (one view/like per location (IP address and per month per artwork).

What is the minimum payout threshold for payment by check?

We do not make payment by cheque but we do payment via Wire Transfer. The minimum amount is 500$ and we do have a flat fee of 50$. We do not have any minimum amount for any paypal payment.

My artwork is not Showing as Puzzle print option, are there certain specs for them that will make them show up?

Your image has to fit a ratio that will correspond to our traditional puzzle print size. (approx 2:3 to 3:4 which is a regular typical digital camera format). If you have a square image or an image too panoramic, the puzzle print option will not be offered.

I upload images on my gallery and they are not showing?

It's possible the website didn't processs them as their file extension was not supported, please make sure to upload files with extension .jpg or .jpeg. Please also make sure your filename only contain alphanumeric caracters. Some special symbol (such as #!*& ) or international caracters ( chinese, arabic ... ) might cause issue during the upload.

How do i calculate how much profit i make for each sales ?

The public price any visitor see on the website is the retail price, including printing cost and your commission. To get a good example of how much commission you make, you can simply go to your account, your online gallery administration, one each artwork, click on the EYE icon with a $. It will show you a special page display the full price and the commission on each size. Flat price & price per dimension is easy to calculate. The percentage of profit however needs some clarification: Consider the percentage of profit is based on the printing cost, not the retail price As an exemple if an artwork is sold at 300$ on the site and you have 50% profit. Your profit is 100$. Cost is 200$ + 50% margin so 100$ = 300$

There is no choice of size option on my artwork

Most probably it's due to the low-resolution image of your artwork. We calculate a minimum resolution for each print, below 100dpi, we don't display the print option.

Can i include my Google Analytics tags into my page?

Yes you can do it! To insert your code, please go to your account, under Artist Profile, go to the bottom of the page and click on "HTML TAGS"

What does Limited Edition mean?

We do not make distinction about the size and format. And we try to make it simple, if you set your artwork as a limited edition, we simply mention that this image will be "printed" only x amount of time on various format.

I uploaded my picture but the printing option is not available

It can take up to 24 hours to generate all the preview pictures to be able to sell your art on different mediums. Those images will be generated during the night and available the next morning

Do you offer a dropshipping service for artists?

Yes, Pictorem offers a complete dropshipping solution: you create, we print and deliver directly to your customers, without stock to manage.

Can i offer a different print ratio

Our online gallery software will automatically display and offer print size based on the exact ratio of your image, so we don't crop or distor your image. To offer the exact ratio, you would need to upload your image with a ratio that correspond.

Image are not loading on my gallery

After uploading your image, our servers begin generating all preview images, including texture previews and wall room mockups. These previews are rendered in batches, so the process may take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours during busy periods. Each artwork you upload can generate up to 50 different preview images, which is why the process is not always instant. If you log in to your online gallery management page, you will see a circular icon next to your artwork title. Click on it to view more details about the rendering status.
