ABOUT THE ARTIST
Florida native, Rene Griffith, grew up in the tiny coastal town of Melbourne during the heyday of the Space program in Cape Canaveral. She is an artist and visual storyteller who creates images that evoke memories and feelings in the viewer. Her paintings are often reminiscent of an earlier era yet are also unmistakably contemporary, intending to create modern art filled with layers of history and texture.
Mostly self taught, Griffith is currently living in Indialantic, a barrier island where she works daily in her home studio and where she continues to study, paint, and grow as an artist. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in galleries in California, South Carolina, and Florida. She has also been featured in numerous local magazine and newspaper articles including the San Francisco Chronicle and Florida Today. In 2021 Griffith had 52 artworks featured in a two-person show at the Foosaner Art Museum in Melbourne, FL. Griffith’s paintings are included in many private residences and corporate collections such as ABC's Scandal TV series, Marshall Fields Corporate collection in Chicago, and hospitals and hotels in Orlando and South Carolina. Her mixed-media work is represented by Koman Fine Art in Vero Beach, Plum Art Gallery in St. Augustine, and Grove Gallery and Interiors in Miami, FL.
