My name is Michelle Ainslie and I’m a wildlife photographer and nature enthusiast based in Northeastern Ontario. My journey into photography began simply—with a camera in hand and a quiet fascination for the birds, butterflies and animals that visited my backyard. Over time, those early moments evolved into a deep-rooted passion for observing, documenting, and sharing the beauty of the wildlife that surrounds us.

Living in a region rich in natural beauty, I’ve been fortunate to encounter everything from shy songbirds to majestic moose. Each time I’m out in nature, I’m reminded of how much we can learn from animals when we slow down and observe without interference. Through my work, I hope to encourage a deeper appreciation for the wildlife we’re lucky to share the environment with. Whether it’s sparking curiosity, making someone smile, or simply offering a moment of calm, my photography is a way to connect people with the natural world.

I believe that responsible wildlife photography means putting the well-being of animals above the photograph. I follow a minimal-disturbance approach, giving wildlife the space and respect they deserve while allowing their natural behavior to unfold. That’s when the most powerful images are captured.

When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll likely find me travelling, camping, hiking forest trails, kayaking or sitting quietly by a marsh, observing natures special moments.
