I received my first "fancy" camera at age 11 - Inherited from my Dad - a Nikkormat that he had purchased in Japan several years earlier. The camera was overwhelming in buttons, meters and adjustments, but started a love for photography, and an enthusiasm to challenge myself to learn the possibilities of photographic art. The camera followed me through my teenage years, and while the camera was taken by theft, the passion for photography of experiences has followed me into adulthood.
