I strive to create contemporary artwork that is both fun + fine: grounded in the principles of design, technique, and quality that make art fine, while exuding a spirit of joyfulness and fun that makes collectors, and their walls, feel more alive.
Much in the way a writer thinks by writing, I think by creating: I often only form an interpretation of what my work represents once it’s complete. The most common thread that I can identify in my work is harmonic dissonance, representing the dichotomies and contradictions present in so many aspects of life.
But, I don’t always feel the need to reach for deeper meaning or context. Sometimes a work is just so simply gorgeous, or so elaborately beautiful, that its very being is what commands our attention, awe, and joy.
The "why" of my art is multi-faceted and always evolving, but whatever the direction, I describe my art as “fun + fine art for design” because spaces are designed for people, and fine quality should never preclude joyful living.
