My artwork focuses mostly on examining the male body and its various forms of expression. Growing up in Alabama I was taught that men were supposed to be tough and rugged. Now, as a psychiatrist in New York City, I work with LGBTQ people and see masculinity represented in a variety of people and presentations.
I am inspired by photographs and models. With their permission, I transform the image and deconstruct what it means to be both masculine and project a beauty aesthetic.
