Che - P. Bellion is best described as an abstract, contemporary painter and tattooist presently located in Durban, Kwazulu-Natal. Her work easily recognised by her comfortability in less traditional techniques specializing in drawing, oil, acrylic, watercolour painting as well as tattooing. Themes within Che's painted canvas work revolve around the experience of neurodivergency and how it translates visuals in the physical world- often by her use of rich and bright colours and rough textures, and the inclusion of swirling and overlapping colours; and seemingly vacant yet cascading atmospheric backgrounds. This serves to represent her view of her internal world and how she may interpret it with a large intention on the lesser obvious details that may demand the eyes attention as well. The focus is far less on the meaning of each individual piece, but rather what a viewer may experience while representing the visuals of the physical and internal world of the painter.
While on skin, Che prefers to help her canvases connect to themselves through their own form of self expression whether it's a dedication to a loved one, past or present; connecting to the spiritual or metaphysical, covering up past experiences or just crafting confidence and comfort in their own skin. She specializes in stippled floral pieces, line work, cover ups, memorial and sentimental tattoos.
Che hopes that by expanding her reach, that the work presented can offer a declaration of expression while serving their intended purpose:
To inspire, to ground and to resonate.
