My name is Carlo Di Biagio. Having always been passionate about photography, I began to pursue it with greater interest over the past twenty years when I took part in a series of courses that taught me first the basic concepts and then more specific techniques and tricks. The rest came naturally, thanks to my sheer passion and desire to always create something that would satisfy me. The themes I have most frequently explored in my photographs are landscapes, still life, and street art. In recent years, I have dedicated myself to creating more distinctive images, using reflection as a "tool" to capture and convey everything that is not part of the everyday reality visible to our eyes. I have, in fact, sought out images—let's call them hidden—that emerge from chalices, chromatic masks, car surfaces, puddles, and shadows, encouraging the observer to see the world from a different perspective. My curiosity has often led me to seek out something new, and photography, with all the emotions it evokes, has helped me on this fascinating journey. What do I think about photography?
Behind the viewfinder of a camera, you have two options: simply shoot, which is perhaps what happens more frequently, or "feel" before shooting. In the latter case, the scenario changes completely, as what you want to construct is not an empty, probably banal image, but an image that you want to fill with the essence of emotions, feelings, and ideas that it itself evokes. When looking at a photograph, as in a game of give and take, this second phase follows, in direct proportion, the emotional commitment expended before the shot.
Then, and only then, it will be like being on the wave of a click.
