Q. What is the difference between Acrylic and HD Metal Print ?
Both Acrylic and HD Metal print will provide a very similar high reflection glass effect with vivid colors and come with the same exact mounting options. In some conditions it will be hard to differenciate them!
The HD Metal Print will be able to render slightly richer black, brighter white and more saturated colors. This is an advantage if you want to generate a high impact colorful and contrasted result. Max size is 60x40
The Acrylic print will provide very precise and sharp details, and the thickness of the acrylic (1/8 or 3/16 inches) will provide a nice optical depth. And you can reach larger print size up to 96x60.
If your image doesn't require to reach extreme color gamut and very high contrast, you will be very fine with acrylic print that still provide very vivid result with a smaller budget.
Q. Do you offer an Acrylic with no glare / no light reflection ?
Yes, we do! We offer a non-glare acrylic print option specifically designed to minimize light reflection and surface glare. This option is ideal for environments with strong lighting, direct sunlight, or gallery spaces where glare can be distracting.
Our non-glare acrylic has a subtle matte finish that preserves the vibrancy and sharpness of your image while reducing unwanted reflections. It maintains the modern, sleek look of traditional acrylic prints, but with enhanced viewing comfort from any angle. If you're looking for a refined presentation without the shine, our non-glare acrylic is a perfect choice.
Q. Is your Acrylic prints waterproof?
Yes our Acrylic print is waterproof, we are using UV cured ink technology and this process is water resistant.
The only thing you have to note is that the Back Frame mounting option is based on wood and is not guaranteed to last long on a humid environment, we would suggest to use metal pieces stand off as a mounting option or the acrylic sheet only.
Q. Will the Back Frame mounting on option will be parallel to the wall?
Yes, if you are using a screw with a head or any wall hanging mounting, the back frame system will make your print perfectly parallel to the wall with no leaning.
If you see a slight lean forward from the top on some of our example pictures, it's due to the special exhibition hanging system using wire from the top of the wall in our office
Q. What file resolution do I need for large-format acrylic prints?
To achieve the best results on large-format acrylic prints—especially sizes up to 96 x 60 inches—we recommend using high-resolution image files with a minimum of:
150–300 DPI (dots per inch) at the print size
For optimal sharpness and detail, submit TIFF, PNG, or high-quality JPEG?files. If you're unsure, our system will flag any issues during upload and suggest recommended sizes for your image quality.
Q. What is the difference between glossy and non-glare acrylic finishes?
We offer two finish options for acrylic prints: glossy and non-glare (matte).
The glossy acrylic finish offers a high-gloss, reflective surface that enhances contrast, depth, and color vibrancy—ideal for bold photography or bright environments where shine is part of the visual appeal.
The non-glare acrylic features a subtle matte finish designed to reduce reflections and light glare, making it perfect for brightly lit rooms, galleries, or spaces with direct sunlight. It softens the visual surface without sacrificing image clarity or color.
Both finishes are printed using UV-cured inks for long-lasting, vivid results. The choice depends on your viewing environment and aesthetic preference.
Q. What mounting options are available for acrylic prints?
We offer three primary mounting optionsfor acrylic prints:
Back Frame (Floating Mount): A hidden frame mounted behind the acrylic, making the print appear to float off the wall. Lightweight and clean, this is ideal for a gallery-style display.
Metal Standoffs: Decorative metal hardware that anchors the print to the wall through drilled holes, visible at the corners. Offers a modern, industrial look and secure installation.
Acrylic Sheet Only (No Mount): A versatile option for those who want to frame or mount the print on their own.
Each mounting option is professionally assembled and ready to hang, depending on your space and style.
Q. Do acrylic prints come ready to hang?
Yes, all of our mounted acrylic prints come ready to hang. Whether you select the Back Frame or Metal Standoff mounting option, your print will arrive with the necessary hardware for wall installation.
The Back Frame mount can be installed using standard wall screws and will sit flush and parallel to the wall. Standoffs come with all required components, including screws and anchors.
If you order the?acrylic sheet only, you will need to provide your own mounting or framing solution.
Q. How do I clean and maintain my acrylic print?
Cleaning your acrylic print is simple. Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to gently wipe the surface. For smudges or fingerprints, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive glass cleaner.
Avoid using paper towels, harsh chemicals, or abrasive pads, as they can scratch or dull the surface. Regular light cleaning will keep your acrylic print looking vibrant and polished for years to come.
Q. What type of images work best on acrylic?
Acrylic prints are ideal for vivid, high-contrast images?that benefit from sharp details and bold colors. Some great choices include:
Landscape photography with dramatic skies and natural textures

Modern black-and-white photos, especially when printed on glossy acrylic for depth

Q. Can You Print on Both Sides of the Acrylic?
We do not currently offer double-sided printing on acrylic. Our acrylic prints are designed with a single-sided, front-facing image, using UV-cured inks that are either printed directly on the back of the acrylic or layered with a protective black or white backing to preserve image vibrancy and durability.
This single-sided approach ensures maximum clarity, depth, and color accuracy when viewed from the front.
Q. Can You Print with Some Transparency on Acrylic?
Yes, we can print with transparency effects on acrylic, depending on your file and design requirements. By default, our printing process uses UV-cured inks on the back of the acrylic, which are opaque and designed for vibrant, full-color display.
However, if you submit a file with transparent or semi-transparent elements (such as a PNG with alpha layers), we can preserve those areas during the printing process to create a see-through effect. This is ideal for creative applications like logos, signage, or layered visual art where light can pass through parts of the image.
For projects that require partial transparency or no backing, please contact our team directly to confirm specifications and ensure your file is set up correctly for this unique effect.
Q. Will colors fade over time on an acrylic print?
No, our acrylic prints are designed to be long-lasting and fade-resistant. We use UV-cured inks, which bond permanently to the acrylic surface and resist fading even under bright lighting or indirect sunlight.
With proper care and installation in environments that avoid direct, prolonged UV exposure, your acrylic print will maintain its color brilliance and detail for many years.
Q. Do you offer acrylic prints face-mounted onto a Dibond backing?
We do not use the traditional face-mounting process, where a photographic print is mounted behind acrylic and then bonded to a Dibond backing.
Instead, Pictorem uses high-definition UV printing directly onto the acrylic, a modern production method that allows us to achieve great image clarity, vibrant colors, and impressive depth while eliminating the additional layers and adhesives required with traditional face mounting.
Printing directly onto acrylic also gives us significantly more flexibility in production. Because we are not limited by photographic paper sizes, mounting equipment, or lamination processes, we can produce much larger acrylic prints and custom dimensions while maintaining consistent quality across the entire surface.
Direct UV printing also provides excellent durability. The image is produced using highly resistant UV-cured inks, creating a stable print that is well suited for long-term wall display and professional applications.
