David Russell Schilling is an acclaimed artist known for his distinct free-flowing painting style that transports the observer to a magical realm. His journey began with studies under Gordon Muck in upstate New York, followed by further training at the Art Students League in NYC. He later broadened his skill set even further with classes at the Takabijutsu Atelier School in Tokyo and deepening his knowledge of art under a graduate from The Washington Studio School while there. Throughout his lifetime, David has consistently used art to discover joy and purpose.

Plumes of kelp swaying On a sandy beach shoreline Buffeted by sea breeze David Russell Schilling's photograph of a long line of seaweed on a sandy beach is a beautiful, ethereal composition. The photograph captures the tall plume made of seaweed which is both unusual and captivating; the way it stands out against the sea-washed background of kelp, moss, and sand bubbles creates an image that is both tranquil and mysterious. It is clear that Schilling was inspired by British artist Andy Goldsworthy's work, as he incorporated elements from his works such as organic material (seaweed) and found objects (sand bubbles). The composition has an organic feel to it, creating a sense of serenity. Schilling has done an excellent job in capturing the beauty of nature in this work and in conveying Goldsworthy's influence.
