Walking the grounds of The Fishers’ Loft Inn, Port Rexton, Newfoundland, I came upon this idyllic scene, which evoked a sense of peace and joy. I knew I had to recreate my experience in a painting. Delightful is comprised of a yellow home nestled in a lush, green landscape of rolling hills with a cluster of trees in the distance. A dirt road lined with tall, purple wildflowers gracefully curves in the foreground, leading towards the home and fades into the grassy hills. The calm sky adds to the peaceful and serene atmosphere of the scene. The home is enhanced by its natural surroundings.
