Born and raised in the northern suburbs of New York City, Dennis now resides in the picturesque Hudson Valley. “I find the mountains and ocean beaches to be some of my favorite places. And I love the ever-changing views of the estuaries and towering palisades along the Hudson River. The subjects I choose to paint are frequently inspired by the landscapes that surround me.” He produces stunning works of art by utilizing a vivid and varied color pallet. "I create the best art when it originates from a source outside of myself and working in this way is so much more enjoyable. I'm not a serious person at all, even though this may seem profound and serious. My artwork is an authentic representation of who I am.” With a solid but ever-evolving personal style, his striking collection is deeply woven with bold, narratives, built with vibrant palettes that are the key to the atmospheres and scenery of the dream-like environments present in his body of work. "The admiration I feel for untainted natural settings and the sense of tranquility that nature brings if we take the time to listen are both reflected in my landscape paintings. Each of us has experienced being mesmerized by the intensity of a brilliant sunset, calmed by the sight and sound of the ocean, or have experienced a sense of spiritual connection while alone in a peaceful forest. I lose all sense of time and place when working, as do many other artists. My painting turns into a focused act of awareness as I perceive this tranquility." Dennis has exhibited works at galleries and juried art shows throughout the United States.
