I am particularly intrigued by images that are, yes, tinged with realism, but especially those that at some point refuse to restrict themselves exclusively to the dictates of mere verisimilitude. I am preoccupied with those places where images escape the boundaries, and it’s that drive that infuses my tastes and my work. I suppose because that’s what I’m looking to do myself, to escape the boundaries that surround us on all sides. And art is the arena, both in terms of that which I appreciate, and that which I try to create myself, where those boundaries can be so blithely crossed.
