I was drawn to photography in college. Thought I might want to be a photojournalist so I majored in journalism. Got the degree and was basically self taught with the help and guidance of a few seasoned professionals. I became a commercial shooter working primary in the advertising industry. It was the right fit.
The viewfinder of a camera helped refined my way of seeing by introducing me to a more inclusive worldview. Eyes wide open! I later opened a small studio seeking commercial assignments in the the world of advertising, healthcare, industrial and corporate annual reports and the portraiture opportunities that accompanied these industries. It was a nice run.
The work I share here is largely personal. I don't chase a singular niche. If I'm attracted to it and it speaks to me, I photograph it and print it. When new clients and collectors choose to invest in my work, that's the ultimate reward plus the fact that my images now occupy a small space in their lives.
