ABOUT AMANDA MELIA ART fs

My name is Amanda Melia Janusz and I create out of my home studio in Colorado. My art journey began in 2020, shortly after my oldest son passed away. He was my inspiration for trying realism for the first time, based on an overwhelming urge to draw his eyes. Having no formal art training, I started exploring how to draw realistic faces in graphite and charcoal. This evolved into being commissioned by family and friends to create pieces for them with my newly found abilities. I also love creating abstract paintings, which help foster my creativity and freedom of expression. My true passion is creating memorial portraits of people and animals, either in charcoal or pastel. The healing that takes place during this creation process between my clients and myself is profound, helping us each on our grief journey.
