Luis Alvarez is a puertorrican artist, located in Texas, who specializes in creating dark and macabre illustrations, often featuring demonical creatures. Born in 1993, Alvarez from a young age and his artistic talent started creating pieces of art. Alvarez don't have any studies, everything that he knows is self-taught. Started working as a freelancer illustrator for several years, creating artwork, tattoo designs, logos, etc. Alvarez's artwork is heavily influenced by fantasy, horror and science fiction, and often featuring monstrous creatures, demons and otherworldly beings. He is particular skilled at using color and light to create a sense of atmosphere and mood in his artwork. Alvarez has gained a following among horror and fantasy fans for his unique and unsettling creations. Despite the often-dark subject matter of his artwork, Alvarez is known for his friendly and approachable personality. He is passionate about his art and enjoys connecting with fans and fellow artist through social media and in person.

ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: THE IN-BETWEEN
The portrait depicts a solitary figure standing in a desolate landscape that seems to stretch on endlessly in all directions. The figure is a person, but their features are indistinct, almost like a ghost or a blur. They are dressed in plain, gray robes that hang loosely from their frame and seem to float in the air. They seems to be waiting for something, gazing out into the distance with a mixture of hope and resignation. They stand with their arms at their sides, as if ready to receive whatever comes next, but there is a sense of uncertainty in their stance, as if they are unsure of what that might be. A sense of limbo, of being caught between two worlds and unsure of which way to go. The figure is a waiting soul, suspended in a state of in-between-ness, and the landscape around them is a reflection of that state - a place that is neither here nor there, but somewhere in the middle.
