"Photographs are like souls in the fabric of time. Each image is a glimpse of our essence. Our Being, Captured. Even after our final breath"... David Cochran -Artist Statement- At the age of eleven I sold my first photographic print to an art gallery. The image was of a little boy looking through a window in a old house. His hands were cupped around his face trying to shade the light behind him so he could see in. This was the first time I earned money from my art! But it wasn't the money that brought me a sense of satisfaction. It was the knowledge that the person who purchased my image understood what I was cavaying through my imagery. A little boy holding his face up to glass trying to see what was inside. The Image invoked a string of emotions in me. Through my art, I understood early on that you could communicate feelings without words... Today I produce my art to collectors all over the world with the same passion I had when I was a little boy. Pablo Picasso said, “It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” Light Through Glass, the fine art photography of David Cochran. -Biography- David Cochran, American Photographer, Born 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Interested in drawing and photography at a very young age. Fascinated with light! Sold his first photograph to an art gallery at the age of eleven. Graduated from the prestigious Philadelphia College of Art in Philadelphia. Also studied at the renowned Studio School of Art & Design in Philadelphia. After a long creative career as a Design Director in Philadelphia, David switched gears and became a fine art photographer.
