It’s an agile, versatile, high-performance 9g multirole fighter that provides unmatched capability and unprecedented situational awareness. With conventional takeoff and landing capability, the F-35A is built for traditional air force bases. The F-35A uses the boom method of aerial refueling and is the only variant to have an internal cannon.“ The sun came out for the F-35, and we had some real nice cloud backgrounds so up goes the shutter speed and good thing because this plane is fast! I was hoping that they would have the B variant at the show to demo the vertical take off/hover/landing capability…but the A variant doesn't require much runway! I was happy to get some great shots of the banking/stopping, looping and tight turning, and was really pleased to see the pressure wave as she (pilot – Capt. Kristin Wolf) went into supersonic right in front of me! If you look closely on two of the climbing shots there is an Eagle trying to get out of town!
