ABOUT MIKKI KV NYLUND fs

Mikki K V Nylund has been at the forefront of art, design and technology for many years yet his art is in many ways reflective of an old soul seeking to make sense of modern existence. In spite of a prominent career as an Art Director at advertising agencies in both Scandinavia and the USA, Mikki's passion for art never dimmed. Eventually finding the courage to "let go" Mikki set off for New York where he now resides as a full-time painter and self-proclaimed manufacturer of "symbolic dreams". His internal dialogue has found expression through a series of magical canvases that are strongly evocative of notions such as devotion, creativity, peace and love. Mikki is a storyteller in the purest form, layering compositions with Scandinavian folklore, symbols collected through his youth, religion, politics, humanism and poetry – all of this then blended with the plethora of life in New York City. Born and raised in Scandinavia, Mikki attended his first art school in Finland followed by art and writing studies in Sweden. He is an accomplished painter, writer and musical composer. Throughout the years his work has been exhibited across Scandinavia, New England, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.
