ABOUT ANNE SEGAL fs
Follow

The themes I explore include botanicals, landscapes, and geometric compositions that combine representational and abstracted elements. I use a wide array of media including acrylic, watercolour, oil stick, graphite, photography, digital, and handmade collage papers. I draw inspiration from the parade of shapes, colours, and rhythms found in nature, and revere the presence I feel there. Exploring how to balance structure and experimentation characterizes my studio practice where I'm immersed in world of possibility and risk-taking, sometimes leading to frustration, sometimes to satisfaction. Artmaking is a vehicle for self-discovery and reflection, an opportunity to slow down and notice all the beauty that surrounds us. ~ Anne received her BFA from Concordia University, and her MSW from McGill University. Her work was selected for a 2018 juried exhibition by Seager/Gray Gallery in San Francisco. She lives, works, and creates in Toronto, Canada.
