ABOUT RENATA DYK fs
Follow

Renata is a living embodiment of the renaissance spirit. Renata completed the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland with the MA degree, with distinction, graduating as an artist and a professional conservator of paintings. Renata began restoring some of Poland’s most famous historical sites, namely Warsaw’s Old Town and the Royal Baths. After moving abroad to United Kingdom and then Cairo, Egypt, she undertook a number of art related initiatives. She ran workshops with local artists and took part in international art exhibitions; eventually inspired to create the eye-catching artistically painted mannequins you see today. Renata's work is a reflection of her mantra. She is an interdisciplinary artist, creates paintings on canvas, fabric, spatial forms and large-format surfaces. Her current artistic activities were preceded by years of work on oil canvas painting conservation, saving frescos, interior design and classic animation of cartoon films. Renata paints on canvas motifs derived mainly from nature. She moves on the border of expressive realism and abstraction. Her style is wide brush strokes contrasting with short spots emphasising the structure and light of the painted fragment of nature. In the last period, she focuses on decorative works on spatial forms. Renata creates mainly symbolic polychromes on reused mannequins, giving them a new life and a place of honor in the world of art.
