ABOUT ESPERANZA PHOENIX fs

Esperanza is a visual and performing artist with an eclectic background. She loves photography, painting, travel and entertaining others. Esperanza grew up in a small town in Northern California, not far from Yosemite. The story goes that she's been painting since they were able to keep her from putting the brush in her mouth. As a child, most weekends were spent traveling the powwow circuit with her father, who was an artist by trade. (It's basically camping and operating a storefront at the same time, but there's also fried bread, lots of drumming and dancing.) As a teenager Ms. Phoenix became interested in performing arts and spent many years involved in all aspects of live theatre. In 2004 she moved with her two children to Costa Rica. That grand adventure lasted seven years. In addition to some incredible experiences, they returned to California fluent in Central American Spanish and with many stories of adventure to share. Ms. Phoenix has a degree in visual communication with a focus on digital illustration. In she 2016 after relocating to the Bay Area, a family member commissioned her to create a large painting of a South West style painting for her new home, which Esperanza to return to creating traditional artwork. Like her artwork, Esperanza is a constantly evolving work in progress.
