PLEASE NOTE: Watermarks are digital identification and will be removed when prints or items are ordered. Aurelia Ann Schanzenbacher is predominantly a self-taught artist and photographer. She describes herself as a nature/landscape photographer and a mixed media artist. Although, that defines only a portion of her body of work, since Aurelia loves immersing herself into the historical culture of the areas she photographs and paints. Aurelia enjoys traveling and most of her images come from those destinations. When looking at a subject, she looks for light, texture, shapes, and patterns that catch her eye. Anything goes in her creative post-processing. She uses textures and painterly effects if they enhance the art, photographic image and vision for the piece she is creating. In 2017, her interest expanded from photography to creating two dimensional art. Art has given Aurelia the ability to experiment in different mediums: oil paints, oil pastels, acrylics, watercolors, ink, color pencils and photographic digital artistry. While traveling, Aurelia makes a concerted effort to do quick daily drawings using mostly ink, watercolor or oil pastel. After creating art, some of her digital post-processing includes taking the drawings and enhancing colors, adding textures or transforming something less appealing into digital masterpieces. To enhance her artistry skills, Aurelia attends workshops and art classes online and offline. She continues to explore new ideas and techniques in pursuit of creating beautiful and interesting art. Aurelia has had art displayed at local galleries and online galleries . She is a member of the Maryland State Art Council, Allegany County Arts Council and Western Maryland Watercolor Society.

ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: TOWER BRIDGE
The Tower Bridge is a vertical lift bridge across the Sacramento River, linking West Sacramento in Yolo County to the west, with the capital of California, Sacramento, in Sacramento County to the east. It has also been known as M Street Bridge. It was previously a part of U.S. Route 40 until that highway was truncated to east of Salt Lake City. The bridge is maintained by the California Department of Transportation as part of State Route 275 and connects West Capitol Avenue and Tower Bridge Gateway in West Sacramento with the Capitol Mall in Sacramento. In 1982, the Tower Bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places. For years, the bridge was painted with a silver aluminum paint under a special work order,[6][8] but people[who?] complained about glare off the bridge. The concrete pylons were initially painted a sky-blue color.[6] In June 1976 as part of Bicentennial projects, it was painted a yellow-ochre color to match the gold leafed cupola on the nearby State Capitol. In 2001, as the old paint job could hardly be distinguished, residents who lived within 35 mi (56 km) of the capital voted on a new color scheme. Their choices were all-gold; green, gold and silver; or burgundy, silver and gold.[9] The winning choice was all gold, and it was repainted in 2002. However, that did not lessen the bridge's color controversy. Some people[who?] complained that the new paint was not as gilded as advertised. Others[who?] have suggested that copper would have been a far better color choice, especially in the context of nearby buildings. The new coat is expected to last 30 years.[10] As of 1963, the bridge is used for pedestrian and vehicle traffic only. By 2007, regional transportation agencies were considering the possibility of adding trolley traffic across the bridge.[citation needed] In 2020, these plans had changed to call for an extension of RT Light Rail to utilize the deck to provide service to West Sacramento.
