Irmus Erdei is an award winning designer who designs prints on high quality canvas. Her mission is to bring her designs to stylish homes and to make modern art accessible for everyone. She wants you to find your everyday escape by looking at her pieces of art that also makes your home unique and stylish. Irmus Erdei is a Hungarian Textile designer based in Budapest, Hungary. She finished at the prestigious Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1977. She received numerous awards such as first prize for the Hungarian Design Award in 1984 and the Prize of the Biennial of Industrial Textile Arts in 1983. She is the leader of a non-profit textile designer organization called Pattern Foundation organizing yearly exhibitions across Hungary. Irmus believes in the power of simplicity and harmony and she follows complete design approach in her art. Complete design approach means that the same design should be reflected back in different areas in your home as on the wall, curtain, and pillows thus creating harmony and peace of mind. The design process starts by inspiring from structures and mother nature, taking actual photos than making sketches on paper, and doing paintings. Irmus puts hours of effort to put everything together to have such a carefully thought out, balanced outcome. It takes months to create such a minimalist design as an end product.
