Abstract, contemporary work representing the issue of increasing human emissions and the impact on the greenhouse effect and global warming that will eventually lead to catastrophic climate change. Human emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases – are a primary driver of climate change – and present one of the world’s most pressing challenges. This link between global temperatures and greenhouse gas concentrations – especially CO2 – has been true throughout Earth’s history. Emission (from the Latin 'to send out, send out'), generally means the emission of particles, substances, (sound) waves or radiation into the environment. The source is called emitter. Every emission causes an immission (impact). On the one hand, emissions are of anthropogenic origin, i.e. caused by humans. On the other hand there are also natural emitters. For example, herbivores and swamps emit methane (swamp gas, CH4), plants emit pollen and volatile organic compounds (VOC), volcanoes emit sulphur dioxide (SO2), rocks emit radioactivity and heavy metals to varying degrees (for example, ? radiation and ? radiation during the radioactive decay of 40K every day; resulting radon or the natural arsenic background of drinking water). Emissions can be diffuse or come from captured sources, such as chimneys. Whether a source is referred to as an "emitter" and a material or energy flow as an "emission" depends primarily on whether the process is relevant under environmental law and not on whether the process is "unnatural". Thus, the term emission source does not refer to the natural emitter. Legislation cannot prohibit a rock zone from accumulating arsenic in groundwater, but it can require a possible spring capture. For example, natural water that exceeds certain limits may not be used for drinking water supply - emission or immission within the meaning of environmental law, the source of arsenic is only created here through water use. The term emission is common in physics, immission mainly in environmental technology and environmental law. Emissions within the meaning of § 3 para. 3 BImSchG are the air pollution, noise, vibrations, light, heat, radiation and similar phenomena emanating from an installation. Air impurities according to § 3 para. 4 BImSchG are changes in the natural composition of the air, in particular through smoke, soot, dust, gases, aerosols, vapours or odorous substances. Emission as a discharge consists of toxic, harmful or environmentally hazardous chemical substances, for example all kinds of pollutants, irritants, allergens, but also as sound emission (noise), light, ionising radiation or vibrations. Typical examples are gaseous and/or particulate pollutant emissions from cars or chimneys, liquid emissions from contaminated sites, dusty emissions from waste dumps, road noise and light pollution. In environmental legislation, an emitter is only an installation within the meaning of the law from which air pollution, noise, vibrations, light, heat, radiation and similar phenomena emanate. Examples are pollutants discharged into the air (emitters are cars, factories or heating systems), into groundwater (emitters may be contaminated sites or agriculture) or into water bodies (possible emitters here are sewage treatment plants).An essential objective of environmental protection is to stop harmful emissions at the source if possible or to reduce them as far as possible in order to avoid environmental pollution such as air pollution, soil pollution or water pollution, and on the other hand to protect people from pollution. Limit values for emissions are applied in Germany by the Federal Immission Control Act within the framework of permits and orders. In Switzerland, the Environmental Protection Act is the legal basis for limiting emissions "by taking measures at source". The emission limits are tightened if the effects become harmful or annoying (Art. 11.3). Limitation is achieved by the enactment of emission limits, building and equipment regulations, traffic or operating regulations, regulations on the thermal insulation of buildings, and regulations on fuels and combustibles. Emissions are limited by ordinances and decrees based on these, for example the DETEC's Machinery Noise Ordinance (MaLV). The reduction of CO2 emissions, as well as of greenhouse gas emissions in general, is laid down in Switzerland's CO2 Act as part of climate protection. Incentive levies, such as the CO2 tax or the mineral oil tax, are increased or maintained by means of the CO2 Ordinance on the basis of international obligations following a performance review (with environmental information systems). As the last example makes clear, a whole bundle of measures can also be applied, because here it is not a question of a single source of emissions, but of a problematic overall emission in the global balance. This can also apply to marine pollution, such as plastic waste in the oceans or acidification of the seas.Air pollution occurs when harmful or excessive quantities of substances are introduced into Earth's atmosphere. Sources of air pollution include gases (such as ammonia, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrous oxides, methane and chlorofluorocarbons), particulates (both organic and inorganic), and biological molecules. It may cause diseases, allergies and even death to humans; it may also cause harm to other living organisms such as animals and food crops, and may damage the natural or built environment. Both human activity and natural processes can generate air pollution. Air pollution is a significant risk factor for a number of pollution-related diseases, including respiratory infections, heart disease, COPD, stroke and lung cancer. The human health effects of poor air quality are far reaching, but principally affect the body's respiratory system and the cardiovascular system. Individual reactions to air pollutants depend on the type of pollutant a person is exposed to, the degree of exposure, and the individual's health status and genetics. Indoor air pollution and poor urban air quality are listed as two of the world's worst toxic pollution problems in the 2008 Blacksmith Institute World's Worst Polluted Places report. Outdoor air pollution alone causes 2.1 to 4.21 million deaths annually. Overall, air pollution causes the deaths of around 7 million people worldwide each year, and is the world's largest single environmental health risk. Productivity losses and degraded quality of life caused by air pollution are estimated to cost the world economy $5 trillion per year. Various pollution control technologies and strategies are available to reduce air pollution.
