The Silent Bloom: A Moment of Pure Autonomy As Artemis II reached Lunar Pericynthion, we witness a profound threshold in human exploration. What must they be seeing? Can you imagine how big the Moon must look from their point of view? So cool. At approximately 7:02 p.m. EDT the Orion spacecraft reached its closest approach to the lunar surface—a moment defined not just by orbital mechanics, but by a transformative silence. As the crew passes behind the lunar far side, the "umbilical cord" to Earth is severed. For 45 minutes, they enter a total communication blackout. In this void, where radio waves cannot reach and the ego of Earth is stripped away, a deeper listening begins. I created a companion video to go with this image as promised in my 'Outbound Coast' post of yesterday, so check out my very last post made earlier. I hope you like the video as I enjoy creating the sound tracks and stores in non-linear ways with VEO Ai helping under the helpful guidance of my prompts. I then go into Photoshop and or Premiere to modify. This is the essence of Universal Hospitality: the courage to welcome the silence, the stranger, and the unknown.
