I'm a fine art photographer and practicing physician based in Missouri. My work is built around a single observation that keeps proving itself true: nature already thinks like a biologist. The branching of a fern, the geometry of a seed head, the thermal patterns at Yellowstone — these structures don't just resemble anatomy, they mirror it, down to the same underlying logic. I photograph what's actually there. No manipulation, no compositing — just the discipline of looking closely enough that the hidden architecture reveals itself. That close attention is something medicine trained in me, and I've found it works just as well with a macro lens in a botanical garden as it does in an exam room. My subjects range from extreme macro botanical work to geothermal landscapes, astrophotography in the Missouri Ozarks, and wildlife.
