Philip Preston is a photographer and digital artist. Over the years, his photography has been published in a variety of UK photography magazines: namely Practical Photography, Camera Weekly, Photography, Digital Photo, Digital Photo User, Digital Photography and What Digital Camera. He has been a contributor to UK stock photo agency Alamy for about 20 years during which time his images have been licenced for use both in the UK and other countries around the world. Usages include national newspapers, editorial websites, other websites, commercial electronic, magazines, books, calendars, museums, newsletters, and personal use. In the last few years Philip has developed a strong interest in digital art, initially using computer programs for use with photographs, and more recently software with Artificial Intelligence (AI) components, AI text to image generators, and 3D software. His recent and current non-photographic digital artworks are often a blend of Stable Diffusion and Studio Artist, or Daz Studio and Boris FX Optics, essentially a fusion of AI and digital artwork. His digital artworks are not bound to any particular style or genre, but geometry, in the form of geometric shapes, does feature relatively often in his work. Philip's Pictorem portfolio showcases his digital artworks and features a selection of semi abstract human portraits and animal portraits, such as horses, tigers, lions and leopards. Many of his semi abstract portraits have a mosaic influence, and his artworks make excellent showpieces around the home or office, giving a modern and contemporary style to your wall art. ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: LINCOLN CATHEDRAL CITYSCAPE - DSF8281
A photograph by Philip Preston of Lincoln Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln, was constructed from 1088 onwards, and is located in the City of Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England, UK. Between 1311 and 1549, it was reputed to be the tallest building in the world, and currently is the third largest cathedral in Britain. The bishop of Lincoln, Hugh of Wells, was one of the signatories to Magna Carta and for hundreds of years the cathedral held one of the four remaining copies of the original, now securely displayed in Lincoln Castle. The photograph shows the west facing front entrance of the cathedral, viewed from the walls of Lincoln Castle.
