Anjuna Sainath is a watercolor artist, originally from India and now based in sunny Singapore. She is an ex-IT professional and a homemaker and started her art journey in 2014 after her elder one started primary school. She has explored various art media, beginning with pencils, color pencils and charcoals, moving on to oils and pastels before discovering watercolors which is now her preferred medium. Her paintings are inspired by nature and human life. The play of light, expressions or emotions in a scene are what inspire her to paint it. She is currently serving as a member of the Singapore Watercolour Society. ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: WALK THE PATH
“No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.” – Buddha This watercolor painting depicts a path through a rocky woodland scene. The bare trees stand like stoic sentinels, their branches reaching skyward weaving an intricate web. A sense of quiet serenity permeates the air, as if the forest itself is caught in a contemplative moment. The path winds its way through the terrain. As it navigates the rocky ground, stretches of dappled sunlight paint the path with alternating strokes of light and shadow. The boulders, weathered by time, add a sense of permanence and endurance, a reminder of life struggles to overcome.
