ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: ORDER AND COLLISION
The first page opens on a room that isn’t a room but a composition of intent: a tall white column banded with decisive black steps forward from the center like a protagonist clearing its throat. It stands upright geometric and unyielding its edges crisp enough to catch the light of the page. Around it flat planes of color are arranged with the confidence of a stage set—reds greens blues and a yellow circle that hangs like a deliberate sun. A bold red square drifts close like a visiting friend or rival half overlapping the column’s shoulder. It feels weighty yet playful its shadow a dark handshake that anchors it to the scene. Above the yellow circle bears a smaller red square inside it a second sun with secrets folded into corners casting an odd cheerful authority across the tableau. The shapes exchange glances: a conversation conducted in right angles and arcs. Radiating from the center are long stretched rays—blue yellow green white—like the turning pages of a book fanning outward. They pull the eye and the plot in many directions at once suggesting motion even where everything is frozen: a narrative of momentum as if the entire composition is mid-flip revealing new surfaces with each page turned. These colored beams create corridors and alleys you sense passageways through which the column might walk. When you close the page you feel you’ve read a chapter about order and collision—about how simple forms aligned and offset can tell of motion conflict and resolution without a single curve out of place.
