This photograph captures a simple roofline in Pepperrell Cove near Kittery Point, Maine. Its discreet, connected peaks form a quiet foreground. An unassuming geometry that patiently frames the brilliant sunsets that each season brings. Passing by, the light caught my attention and refused to let go. I pulled over almost without thinking, compelled by the way the roofline held the sky, allowing the colors to rise and fall above it. Moments like this are easy to miss, but impossible to ignore once seen. Sometimes it is the most ordinary structures that give the extraordinary light a place to rest.
