Seeing the Extraordinary in the Everyday: My Journey as an Artist I remember it vividly. I was just a toddler, walking to the store one evening with my father, when I noticed how unusually bright the night was. Curious about where the light was coming from, I looked up—and there it was, my very first glimpse of a full moon. But what truly struck me wasn’t just its brightness. In that glowing orb, I saw the image of the Madonna and Child. Looking back, I may have been drawing from the religious icons that filled our home, but in that moment, the moon became more than just the moon—it became a canvas for something sacred and imagined. That memory has stayed with me, not just as a childhood vision, but as a quiet metaphor for how I see the world as an artist. I believe artists possess a peculiar gift: the ability to find images in unexpected places, to interpret ordinary scenes and reveal something deeper, sometimes dreamlike. That moment beneath the moon was the beginning of this way of seeing. My path wasn’t a straight line. I trained and practiced as an architect for much of my life—constructing structures rather than painting them. I explored photography, too, learning how to frame moments in time. But more recently, I’ve come home to something I didn’t realize I’d left behind: making art. When I showed some of my digital work to my mother, she looked at me and said gently, “That is your first love.” I had forgotten, but she hadn’t—I was once set on studying fine arts before being steered toward architecture instead. Today, I create digital graphic art drawn from the same impulse I had as a child: to see beyond. My current projects include FancyCrazyHydrants—a playful reimagining of fire hydrants as urban legend, King Kala Lily—Calla Lilies on Steroids, and Pogi Wheels —for the love of cars! --and other "subjects" that comes to mind--Faces, The City, Smoke and Shades, Techno Abstract, etc. What you see in these works are not just graphics. They’re glimpses—of how I observe and how I make sense of the world. Note: All images/artwork offered here are for a "limited time only" and will be removed and shelved indefinitely to make way for a new "fresh" batch.
