As I stood there, the storm rolled in from the north, with lightning illuminating the distant mountains. On the horizon is Sunset Point, a well-known stop along Interstate 17 for travelers heading north, often admired for its stunning views of the Arizona landscape, especially during sunset. Table Mesa, nestled within Arizona's Sonoran Desert, has a history that stretches back to its days as a key site during the early settlement of Arizona. This area was traversed by early explorers, prospectors, and indigenous peoples long before modern highways cut through the land. Today, it serves as a popular spot for off-roading and outdoor adventure, drawing locals and travelers alike seeking to immerse themselves in the desert's raw beauty. With a long exposure set, I waited for the right moment as the storm drew closer. The scene unfolded dramatically as a bolt of lightning shot down from the clouds, slicing the sky and grounding itself in the distance, perfectly framed between the desert flora and mountainous horizon.
