Nina Laitinen is a Finnish/Canadian landscape painter and photographer based in Toronto, Canada. Her adventures home and abroad have inspired her landscapes and city scapes. Whether it's the white of a birch bark or the aquamarine waters of the Caribbean Sea, she captures the colour and beauty of nature. She has lived in New Zealand, the Caribbean, Thailand, Korea and Mexico. The brilliance and wonder of the natural world are captured in each of her paintings and photos. Her hope is to inspire people with her art, to bring the outdoors in and to invoke feelings of joy, relaxation and inspiration in any space. She has been a featured artist in the 2- Hands Create Exhibition, a multi-media art gallery featuring local Toronto artists.

Original is Oil on Canvas. I have always had a fascination with Uluru, formerly known as Ayers Rock. My cousin is from Australia and I had a postcard of Uluru from her which I posted on my bedroom wall as a child. I found it interesting that a big, red rock was formed in the middle of the country. I have since learned that Uluru is the last remnant of a mountain range which was higher than the Himalayas. There is a spiritual, majestic quality to this monolithic rock. It was my goal to convey this majestic quality.
