My subject matter includes architectural, waterscapes, landscapes, macro and abstracts both nature and other interesting objects. My wildlife subjects include songbirds, raptors, reptiles and mammals. I have received special recognition in the form of competition winners and/or published images including Canadian Geographic, Canadian Wildlife, Photolife, Sigma Canada, Outdoor Photography Canada, Our Canada and PhotoNews. I love to spend my days in nature capturing everything from landscapes to animals to a simple flower or a minute insect. Photography for me, is both relaxing and exhilarating and every capture is pure joy. I am fortunate to have many trails in my area, two rivers, the Speed and Eramosa Rivers, a lake (Guelph Lake) and many streams, creeks and wetlands where I can hike alone and spend hours capturing life's most serene and peaceful moments. I also vacation in the summer and fall in northern Ontario where the rugged landscape, rock formations and beautiful lakes and rivers are just outstanding. "Simple Nature" by Debbie Oppermann. Early morning light on the calm, still water of the bay at Thistle Island Georgian Bay, Ontario Canada, was the scene for this simple but beautiful nature image. Grasses, bushes, reeds and a small dead tree were stunning in their simplicity as they were reflected on the almost colorless water. The plant life is partially submerged as the water level of the bay has risen significantly this year.
