Hi there, I'm Aleksander. T Forian. I am a well recognized Montreal artist that primarily focusses his skills and talents on abstract, pop art and my favourite of all traditional Japanese with a little bit of a western twist. ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: OWATTA
OWATTA 60x40 ACRYLIC I to would say "I fucked up" if I had a katana going through the top of my head as well. The canvas had a pre-existing layer of gesso which created texture all across the canvas. I worked against the textured canvas creating different shades of different colours as I aggressively painted each layer. A challenge within itself but rewarding by the end. They gave the painting more life. The saturated background is filled with a wide variety of different colours and textures. I also use a pallet knife. The Spider Lily and Japanese Peony have their own characteristics and texture from the various acrylic paint I used. All the say, this is painting is one of the more controlled colourful pieces I've done in a while and I seem to be using the same pallet over and over again. I do believe that this will be the last time I do this colour format for I have grown tired of it, but at least it has contributed to one last hurrah in OWATTA! (original painting is available as well as prints)
