ABOUT JARMILA KOSTLIVA contact artist
Follow

Jarmila Kostliva is a Canadian contemporary artist working in abstract fine art prints and conceptual photography. Her work explores memory, perception, architecture, and emotional landscapes through layered abstraction, light, and atmospheric color fields. This gallery presents a curated selection of abstract fine art prints for sale, derived from original paintings and photographic works. Kostliva’s practice moves between painting and photography, translating painterly gestures into refined visual compositions that balance intuition with structure. Her abstract imagery often reflects urban traces, psychological spaces, and fragmented narratives, inviting quiet contemplation rather than literal interpretation. Influenced by modern abstraction, minimalism, and conceptual art, her works are created for collectors, interior designers, and art consultants seeking modern abstract artwork with depth and poetic presence. Each piece functions both as a visual statement and as an emotional environment, adaptable to contemporary interiors and private collections. Her work has been exhibited internationally across Canada, the United States, Europe, and South America, and has received recognition in international art competitions. These abstract art prints are available in museum-quality formats, offering collectors access to a consistent and thoughtful body of contemporary work. Whether viewed as abstract photography or painterly abstraction, Kostliva’s images are intended to resonate over time — revealing subtle shifts in form, color, and meaning with repeated viewing. Jarmila currently resides and continues to create in Vancouver, BC, Canada. www.jarmila-kostliva.com

ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: MELON BI-POLAR
Surreal abstract print exploring duality, surface tension, and psychological reflection. This artwork is showing texture and concept of nature's elements in micro details. The artwork is inspired by the emotional and mental issues of the family member. Moving in circles in a dissociated state of existence, metaphorically expressed here as a dislocated form of nature, appearing cut off from the world. This artwork stands as a striking testament to the interplay between texture and reflection. Dominating the composition is a meticulously detailed sphere, its surface boasting an intricate network of organic patterns that invite closer inspection. The sphere's texture is reminiscent of natural formations, perhaps evoking images of a cantaloupe's rugged exterior or the delicate complexity of coral reefs. What sets this piece apart is its masterful use of reflection. The lower half of the artwork mirrors the textured sphere above it with nearly flawless precision, creating an almost hypnotic symmetry that draws the viewer's eye to the central point of convergence. This perfectly executed reflection not only doubles the visual impact but also serves to blur the lines between reality and illusion, effectively enhancing the surreal quality of the piece. The color palette is deliberately restrained, utilizing muted tones of gray and subtle hints of green that lend the work an ethereal, almost otherworldly ambiance. This choice of hue further emphasizes the texture and structural elements without distracting from them. In summary, this artwork commands attention through its innovative use of texture and mirrored symmetry. It is a visually engaging and thought-provoking piece that challenges the observer to consider the harmony and balance present in natural forms, all while appreciating the artist's technical prowess and creative vision.
