The Cinematic Anomaly: Saturation, Structure, and Subversion After more than 30 years as a film and television director, my artistic practice has undergone a radical, deliberate evolution. Having spent three decades mastering the architecture of moving images, structured narratives, and technical perfection—earning six prestigious Prix Gémeaux nominations, with one win for Best Director /Musical Variety and two for Best Show, as well as a Prix Félix nomination for Best Music Video—I have transitioned into the raw, unhurried domain of Lo-Fi vintage limited-edition fine art photography. This varied background in cinematic directing heavily informs my still photography. Every frame is approached as a highly tense, single-image psychological narrative, captured with the rigorous eye of a director but executed with the unpredictable, chaotic collaboration of analog mediums. Through expired film stocks, chemical cross-processing, lo-fi vintage cameras and intentional optical distortions, I capture the friction between the raw natural world and the rigid societal, digital, and domestic structures that seek to contain it. My work documents a state of beautiful burnout—where hyper-saturated colour fields and heavy grain textures act as a visceral visual language. My ongoing exploration is cataloged across four major pillars: * The Psychological Spaces: THE DOMESTIC DELIRIUM (Series 1–6) collection investigates the hidden anxieties, private vices, and heavy sensory claustrophobia tucked away behind the manicured screens of home and routine. This matches the restless momentum of CHAOS MADE TO ORDER (Series 1–6), a body of work mapping the algorithmic tension, fragmentation, and systemic surveillance defining contemporary life. * The Two-Part Botanical Study: Nature is stripped of its passive romanticism and injected with raw psychological weight. Part 1: HYPERSATURATED NATURE pushes organic life into toxic, surreal neon domains, while Part 2: DEEP FOCUS UNDERGROWTH plunges into the dark, hidden, and tightly packed textures thriving beneath the surface layer. * The Landscapes: The horizon is reimagined through LO-FI HORIZON (Series 1–6), where vast geographical boundaries melt into experimental grain, light leaks, and analog decay. * The Final Light: The fleeting transitions of dusk are captured in the VINTAGE AFTERGLOW (Series 1–3) collection, a melancholic study of fading suns rendered through warm chromatic bleed and nostalgic, texturized degradation. * Through these interconnected series, my photography captures the exact moment where cinematic order fractures, allowing the raw, beautiful delirium of reality to bleed through the frame.
