ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: ELECTRIC EMBRACE
A single sheet of color becomes a stage. Down the exact center of the image runs a seam so straight it reads like an axis — left and right do not argue but converse. On the left a warm chorus of red orange and sun-bright yellow curves outward on the right cool blues and aquamarines fold in like water. Together they form a perfect dome a circle split in two languages each hemisphere fluent in its own palette but meeting at the rim with a polite electric embrace. Where those two halves overlap new shades are born: a luminous green band arches across the center a secondary shell of translucent color that announces itself like a borrowed memory. Beneath the dome at the point where light should be strongest a semicircle of deep black cups the composition — an aperture a mouth or the hush of an eclipse. It eats a sliver of the arch and throws shadow across the midline turning symmetry into suspense. A crisp white strip cuts horizontally through the middle a hard horizon that separates sky from stage. Below it the foreground tilts into two trapezoidal planes that angle toward the viewer: to the left a field of verdant green to the right a sheet of saturated blue between them a central white path that feels like an invitation. The planes are flattened immaculate their sharp edges suggesting a perspectival pull that wants you to move forward to step over the horizon and into whatever the black mouth guards. The whole picture reads like a promise and a challenge — a meeting of opposites that produces a new fragile center. The colors hum against one another geometries align and contradict and a quiet narrative emerges: two worlds converge light yields to shadow and at the point of meeting there is the possibility of passage. You can linger on the perfection of the arcs on the way the green seam glows where hot and cool collide or you can follow the white path and imagine what lies just beyond the dark half-circle — an exit an entrance or simply the next page.
