Millie Lissow's artistic practice investigates symmetry and abstraction, incorporating conceptual and surreal elements with erotic and sensual undertones. Her distinctive style organically evolves from diverse emotional experiences and observations, eschewing predetermined subject matter in favor of improvisation informed by her immediate environment and knowledge. Her artistic journey began in childhood, inspired by Catholic church art. Initially pursuing abstract art as a personal passion, she later found a wider appreciation for her work. In 2008, she prioritized career goals by joining the military. Following her military service, she transitioned to security and law enforcement. However, a PTSD/Bipolar diagnosis and subsequent disability led to a rediscovery of art as therapeutic practice. InInitially, she explored color pop art and photographic recoloring to cultivate her understanding of line and color theory. She then progressed to redrawing images, integrating her unique artistic style. Eventually, she developed the ability to conceptualize and create original abstract, surrealist, erotic, and other forms of artwork. To broaden her artistic scope, she pursued photography, aiming to realize her artistic concepts through the photographic medium. Her artwork's profound emotional resonance is significantly informed by her experiences with cyclical mood disorders, serving as a powerful source of inspiration for her abstract works. These intense emotional states are translated into visual narratives, inviting viewers to contemplate the complexities of human emotion from her distinctive perspective. Millie Lissow's distinctive digital artwork masterfully captures the transient nature of emotions through a bold and innovative approach. This technical choice offers both precision and the capacity to explore symmetry and abstraction in ways unavailable to traditional media. Her work exemplifies the expressive power of digital art, showcasing the complex interplay of emotion and intellect within its limitless possibilities.
