Shaped by the tumultuous backdrop of Lebanon's conflicts from 1975 to 2005, my artistic journey began in the heart of adversity. Growing up in a country scarred by war, I was deeply influenced by the challenges around me, which ignited my desire to express myself through art. These early experiences formed the foundation of my creative drive, allowing me to transform pain and struggle into artistic expression. In 2005, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start, I moved to Canada. While this transition opened new doors for my personal and artistic growth, it also brought with it a profound sense of longing. I miss my hometown of Batroun dearly and the people I left behind, especially my mom and my dog, who still live there. The emotional distance, combined with the rarity of visits, often finds its way into my art, adding layers of depth and meaning to each piece. For a period, I drifted away from spirituality, but over time, I realized its importance in my life. Spirituality became a necessary anchor to maintain hope, particularly in difficult moments. Recently, I survived a heart attack, which was a wake-up call that reinforced the need to live with purpose and seek deeper meaning in everything I do. Through my art, I reflect on these personal experiences—my connection to my roots in Lebanon, my journey of awakening, and my ongoing search for healing and deeper understanding. Each piece I create is a testament to my history, a reflection of the emotions that shape my life, and an invitation for others to engage with these themes. My art is more than just a visual experience; it is a journey through my story, a process of self-discovery, and an exploration of the power of hope, resilience, and spirituality. ______________________________________________ Forgé par les conflits du Liban de 1975 à 2005, mon parcours artistique a émergé au cœur de l’adversité. En grandissant dans un pays marqué par la guerre, j’ai été profondément influencé par les défis qui m’entouraient, ce qui a éveillé en moi le désir d’exprimer mes émotions à travers l’art. Ces premières expériences ont formé la base de ma créativité, me permettant de transformer la douleur et la lutte en une forme d’expression artistique. En 2005, cherchant de nouvelles opportunités et un nouveau départ, je me suis installé au Canada. Si cette transition m’a ouvert de nouvelles portes sur le plan personnel et artistique, elle m’a aussi plongé dans une profonde nostalgie. Ma ville natale, Batroun, me manque énormément, tout comme les proches que j’y ai laissés, notamment ma mère et mon chien, qui y vivent toujours. La distance émotionnelle, conjuguée à la rareté de mes visites, se reflète souvent dans mon art, apportant à chaque œuvre une profondeur particulière. Pendant un temps, j’ai pris mes distances avec la spiritualité, mais au fil du temps, j’ai compris son rôle essentiel dans ma vie. La spiritualité est devenue un ancrage nécessaire pour maintenir l’espoir, surtout dans les moments difficiles. Récemment, ayant survécu à une crise cardiaque, cela a agi comme un véritable appel à l’éveil, renforçant la nécessité de vivre avec un but et de rechercher un sens profond dans tout ce que je fais. À travers mon art, je réfléchis à ces expériences personnelles, à ma connexion avec mes racines au Liban, à mon processus d’éveil, et à ma quête de guérison et de compréhension profonde. Chaque œuvre que je crée est un témoignage de mon histoire, une réflexion des émotions qui façonnent ma vie, et une invitation à plonger dans ces thématiques. Mon art est plus qu’une simple expérience visuelle, c’est un voyage à travers mon récit, un processus de découverte de soi, et une exploration du pouvoir de l’espoir, de la résilience et de la spiritualité.

This piece is a tribute to the city I miss dearly and the people who continue to live in my heart, even from afar.
