My practice is deeply informed by the legacy of Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven: their reverence for the Canadian wilderness, bold handling of paint, and commitment to expressive colour resonate in my work while allowing room for contemporary impressionism. I aim to honour that lineage by pushing its expressive possibilities—embracing the wildness of nature, the improvisation of the studio, and the quiet poetry found between observation and imagination.
My family and I live on the Canadian Shield in the Lake of the Woods area surrounded by the Boreal Forest. This land inspires me to live creatively with honesty and love.
