I am inspired by the beautiful landscapes of southern Vermont that surround our home, and I work to depict the emotions that arise in this wild yet gentle place. I am also inspired by metaphysical themes and deeply-held faith. Most of my work could be described as improvised, barely-guided chaos, which is how I often find life in general, and I attempt to visually express the unsayable and even unknowable. I’m a born-and-bred intellectual, but painting is my quest to feel all the feelings. So to experience my work to its fullest, consider laying aside the idea of “what is it?” and instead move toward “how does it feel?”
