ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: CAPE BONAVISTA LIGHTHOUSE
The Cape Bonavista lighthouse in Bonavista, Newfoundland, against the last, fading light of a summer sunset.This whole day had been overcast and drizzling. I got to chatting with another photographer at the nearby puffin colony that afternoon, and she said she was probably just going to head back to her hotel for the evening. I said, "Oh no, don't do that, it's stormy days like this that you get the best sunsets!" I told her we were planning to visit to this lighthouse later on.Well, we got sidetracked at the Dungeon Rocks for longer than expected, and ended up on the road in between the two locations, during a spectacular sunset! Brilliant ribbons of colour across the horizon.By the time we reached the lighthouse, it was all but over, and who was there, but the other photographer I'd been speaking to earlier! She was super excited and had gotten some great shots. I've always wished that we'd exchanged info, so I could have seen what she captured that evening, but we did not, so you're stuck with my version of the scene! ;)
