A serious amateur photographer who migrated from B&W street photos to digital color, I learned to love the new creative avenues of semiconductor based sensors & software tools. Rather than seeking decisive moments, I sought beauty in blank walls, weathered paint and reflections of shiny surfaces - "pictures of nothing" as a critic described J.M.W. Turner's seascapes almost 200 years ago. My subjects are water tanks & cisterns near my home in Napa, sidewalks and street surfaces in my travels, the structures & colors of cactus, and spiritual symbols found in shadows, barn walls & elsewhere. I also catch a decisive moment now & then of workers and other living creatures.
