Hub Blanchette

Hello, I'm Hub Blanchette, a photographer, artist, and storyteller based in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada.

My journey into photography began later in life after a vacation to Mexico, where I found myself watching humpback whales and wishing I had the equipment and knowledge to properly capture the experience. That moment sparked a passion that continues to grow today.

What started as a hobby quickly became a lifelong pursuit of learning, creativity, and exploration. Over the years, I have traveled throughout Canada, Scotland, Europe, Mexico, and beyond, capturing landscapes, wildlife, cityscapes, and the unique moments that make each destination memorable. Along the way, I have studied the work of many talented photographers, continually refining my skills and developing my own approach to photography.

People often ask about my photography style. My answer is simple: it continues to evolve. Every new location, experience, and lesson changes the way I see the world through the lens. Rather than focusing on a single style, I focus on creating images that tell a story, evoke emotion, and connect people to places, memories, and experiences that matter to them.

More recently, my photography has taken on a deeper purpose. Inspired by my mother's journey with dementia, I have begun combining photography, artwork, and awareness initiatives to help spark conversations about memory, identity, and the people behind the diagnosis. Through photography and creative projects, I hope to preserve stories, celebrate lives, and encourage greater understanding of dementia and its impact on families.

This gallery represents a collection of some of my favorite images and experiences. Some capture the beauty of nature, others reflect the character of cities and cultures, and many simply preserve moments that might otherwise be forgotten. My goal is to create photographs that you would be proud to display in your home or workplace and enjoy for years to come.

Thank you for visiting my gallery and supporting my work. I hope these images bring back memories, inspire new adventures, and remind you of the beauty that surrounds us every day.
