Limpy was a very special rooster who was rescued due to a foot deformity and lived a very loved and spoiled life, often coming in the house for treats and cuddles. Sadly, he was killed by a predator, not long after his photo session at his home in Memramcook, NB. He was the first chicken I photographed for a client, but not the last. In fact, chickens have ended up figuring more prominently in my pet photography business than I ever imagined, and Limpy started it all! People really love their chickens. (Including me, I have several beloved silkies and Cochins).I made this commemorative hand-rendered digital painting based on a couple of the photos from Limpy's session, using brushes in Photoshop. It would look beautiful on any textured or rustic finish, like watercolour paper, canvas, or wood.
