Baker’s Infinite Canvas presents portraits of people who refuse to be reduced by what they have survived. Moving between painterly realism and bold graphic color, the work examines bodily autonomy, illness, grief, aging, and quiet acts of refusal. These subjects are not presented as inspirational symbols. They are complicated people claiming the right to exist without permission, explanation, or apology. Digital and AI tools are part of the process. Human experience remains the subject.

ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: THE CHALLENGER
Her eyes meet yours before you have the chance to look away. It’s not a stare born of intimidation, but of certainty — the kind that knows exactly what it stands for and will not step aside. The golden crown on her brow catches the light, framed by waves of midnight hair, as if the shadows themselves bend to her. The backdrop burns in deep orange and blue, colors colliding like the clash of day and night. She doesn’t break her gaze. There is no need for grand gestures; the truth of her strength is written in the calm precision of her expression. In this moment, she is not preparing for battle — she is the battle. The quiet, unrelenting force that will meet any challenge head-on. This is She Who Burns: unafraid to be seen, unafraid to stand alone, unafraid to strike when the moment demands.
