ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: MONUMENT VALLEY 2
Monument Valley - a red sand desert region of the Colorado Plateau characterized by a cluster of sandstone buttes with the largest reaching 1000 feet. Located in north eastern Arizona along the Utah - Arizona state line, there’s a scenic drive through the valley and you can see vehicles in some of the images, they look so tiny against these magnificent giants. Many movies have been made here, mostly westerns and it’s not hard to see why. This rugged unforgiving land genuinely has the feeling of a higher power around it. The Valley is considered sacred by the Navajo Nation.
